Peer Reviewed™ (Martindale Hubbell)
Charles J. Risch has built an impressive litigation practice representing broker-dealers, investment advisors and other financial services professionals in lawsuits and regulatory matters. He also represents financial services and other business clients in hiring and contract disputes, and consumer product manufacturers in product liability actions.
Charlie has achieved consistent success defending business and professional clients in arbitrations, class actions, and administrative proceedings involving allegations of fraud, and/or violations of the securities or commodities laws. Charlie believes that strong teamwork and preparation provide the surest path to successful litigation outcomes. As National Coordinating and Trial Counsel for a major manufacturer of juvenile products, Charlie supervises and handles its product liability claims nationwide and has won jury trials throughout the country, most notably in difficult defense jurisdictions such as Southern Alabama and the Rio Grande Valley.
As much as he enjoys trying cases, Charlie appreciates that clients usually prefer to avoid litigation. To this end, he counsels clients on how to manage litigation and regulatory risks in the areas of supervisory and compliance issues, contractual obligations, restrictive covenants, and state laws relating to the protection of trade secrets and proprietary information. Charlie also works with manufacturing clients to design and implement quality assurance policies and procedures to minimize exposure to product liability and regulatory actions.
When not in the office, Charlie enjoys time with his family and a variety of outdoor activities, including golf, fishing, and hunting.
