Lisa K. Murphy is an experienced adult guardianship and probate attorney. She also serves as Guardian ad Litem for adults in guardianship matters in Cook County. Lisa has dedicated a significant portion of her career to public interest work, including service with the Cook County Public Guardian Adult Guardianship Division and Chicago Volunteer Legal Services (CVLS), where she served as Director of the Adult Guardian ad Litem and Decedent Estates Programs.
Lisa believes that all individuals deserve to be treated with dignity, regardless of age or level of disability. Her public interest experience has equipped her to help individuals and families navigate complex guardianship and probate matters. In every situation, she strives to honor the autonomy and wishes of individuals under guardianship and of those who have passed. Lisa also has experience in residential real estate law and estate planning.
Lisa is a member of the Chicago Bar Association, where she serves as Co-Chair of the Elder Law Committee. She is also active in the community, volunteering as a pro bono attorney with CVLS and fostering dogs with Tiny n Tall Rescue. Lisa lives in the northwest suburbs of Chicago with her husband and four dogs—and often a foster dog or two.
