Désirée L. Grode concentrates her practice in tax & estate planning, estate administration and trust administration. With an LL.M. in Tax and over 30 years of experience, Désirée brings highly specialized legal acumen and knowledge to bear for her clients.
Désirée has extensive experience with drafting estate plans to address the unique financial and benefit requirements of individuals and families. Her approach is simple: understand each client’s needs and circumstances and work to simplify complex matters. Désirée works closely with clients to devise strategic asset protection strategies for their heirs and is skilled at preparing core estate planning documents as well as tax-sheltering revocable trusts, irrevocable life insurance trusts, and generation-skipping dynasty trusts.
When handling probate, estate and trust administration matters for decedents, Désirée maintains steadfast focus on enforcing the wishes documented by the decedent. In addition to representing estate representatives in court proceedings, Désirée also helps establish and provides ongoing counsel for court-supervised guardianships for minors and disabled adults.
Before becoming an attorney, Désirée was a professional violinist playing for ballets, operas, orchestras, chamber music and synagogues. In 2010 she was a candidate for Cook County Board Commissioner, receiving endorsement from the Chicago Tribune and Chicago Sun-Times.
